Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow our decking products segment with builders and subcontractors. You will manage relationships, present product benefits, and drive orders from quote to delivery, ensuring on-time shipments and accurate take-offs.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years selling decking or outdoor living products, strong communication skills, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret local codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years proven sales experience in decking or outdoor living products.
• Ability to cold call and grow relationships with customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs with knowledge of local building codes.
• Proven ability to increase sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
