Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to sell decking and outdoor living products to builders and subcontractors across residential and commercial markets. You will manage customer relationships, present product features and benefits, and prepare estimates with take-offs to ensure timely orders and shipments.

The role emphasizes building relationships, maintaining sales across product lines, and visiting job sites as needed to support customers and drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience selling decking products.
• Ability to cold call and grow relationships with customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs with knowledge of local building codes.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and profitability.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of customer service.
• Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
