Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to drive decking product sales with builders and contractors across residential and commercial markets. You will present, quote, and close projects while managing ongoing customer relationships on site visits and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience selling decking products (wood, composite, PVC) and outdoor living products.
• Ability to cold call and grow relationships with customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs with knowledge of local building codes.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine needs and provide services.
• Attain and maintain sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking.
• Present to builders and provide expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take-offs and prepare estimates and ensure orders ship on time.
