Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a PT Outbound Freight Handler on the Second Shift. You will load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and use appropriate equipment with safety at the forefront. Background checks and drug screening are required, and forklift experience or certification is preferred.

Pay ranges from $18.10 to $21.60 per hour, depending on location and experience. High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass a background check and an alcohol and drug test.
• Prior experience as Forklift Operator, Dock/Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred.
• Forklift Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment.
• Assist in recouping damaged freight.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
• Use safe lifting techniques when loading/unloading.
• Select and use proper freight handling equipment.
• Weigh and dimension shipments; plan cube and weight distribution.
• Count and inspect freight; document shortages or damage.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and proper placarding when loading.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting.
