Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a FT Outbound Freight Handler to load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and use safe lifting techniques. You will weigh and dimension shipments, plan cube utilization, and verify freight paperwork for accuracy and safety.

Candidates with forklift experience and a High School Diploma or GED are preferred. Background checks and drug testing are required; second shift available with pay in the range shown.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check and an alcohol/drug test.
• Prior forklift operator, dock/warehouse, or material handler experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers before loading.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and freight rating.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Review manifests and verify special instructions and hazardous material paperwork.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
