Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a Part-time Outbound Freight Handler for the second shift. You will load and unload freight, prepare trailers, inspect shipments, and ensure safe handling using proper equipment.

Candidates should pass a background check and drug test, with forklift operation experience preferred. Prior forklift certification is desirable, and familiarity with freight bills, manifests, and hazardous materials paperwork is a plus.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug test required.
• Prior forklift operator/dock/warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment using safe lifting techniques.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and handling.
• Block, brace and secure freight to prevent shifting during transport.
• Check manifests, freight bills, and hazardous material paperwork for accuracy.
• Inspect and prepare trailers before loading and recoup damaged freight when needed.
