Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a FT Outbound Freight Handler. You will load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and ensure safe handling and documentation. Prior forklift/warehouse experience is preferred, with a requirement to pass a background check and drug/alcohol test.

Pay ranges from $29.70 to $34.50 per hour, with second shift and standard safety procedures across our Missouri operations. A forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol test.
• Experience as Forklift Operator, Dock/Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and safe handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
• Review freight bills for special instructions and check manifests for exceptions.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when loading.
