Schweitzer Mountain Resort is hiring for a Full Time Seasonal Kitchen role. You’ll be responsible for opening/closing the restaurant, ensuring staff arrives on time, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation to support fast, high-quality service.

Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking on a line with various methods, adherence to health and safety standards, inventory monitoring, and assisting with purchasing.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing and communication required.
• 2 years kitchen experience preferred, including prior work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute all food preparation tasks in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and assemble menu items on a line using various methods (grilling, frying, etc.).
• Ensure dishes are consistently prepared to meet quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations and keep station clean and stocked.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing.
• Secondary duties as assigned, including knowledge of Schweitzer facilities and snow removal.

Position Summary

Responsible for running the BOH operation. Directly responsible for opening/closing the restaurant and assuring all staff arrives for shifts on time, in uniform.

Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities

• Execute all food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces, in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
• Efficiently cook and assemble a variety of menu items-including breakfast and lunch-on a cooking line. Must be proficient with a variety of cooking methods like grilling, frying, etc.
• Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared to meet standards for quality and visual presentation.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation always, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Must become knowledgeable of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services and activities.
• Shovel Snow
• Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Skills

• License/Certifications - Idaho Food Safety Certification (training provided)
• Technical - Cooking Skills/Basic kitchen skills
• Physical Capabilities - Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally and assist lifting up to 100lbs.
• Additional - Exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.

Education/Related Experience

Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication, basic math

Minimum time in related position - 2 years kitchen experience, at least 1 year at TheOutback
