Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Idaho is seeking a Full Time Seasonal Kitchen position. The role includes opening/closing the BOH, ensuring staff arrive on time in uniform, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation to support smooth service.

Responsibilities include food prep, cooking on a line for breakfast and lunch, and strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards with opportunities for benefits and tips where applicable.

Competenze

• Proficiency in cooking and food prep per established recipes and quality standards.
• Experience with a variety of cooking methods (grilling, frying, etc.).
• Minimum 2 years kitchen experience, at least 1 year at The Outback; English reading/writing and math skills required.

Position Summary:

Responsible for running the BOH operation. Directly responsible for opening/closing the restaurant and assuring all staff arrives for shifts on time, in uniform.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

• Execute all food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces, in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
• Efficiently cook and assemble a variety of menu items—including breakfast and lunch—on a cooking line.
• Must be proficient with a variety of cooking methods like grilling, frying, etc.
• Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared to meet standards for quality and visual presentation.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation always, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Must become knowledgeable of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services and activities.
• Shovel Snow
• Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Skills:

• License/Certifications- Idaho Food Safety Certification (training provided)
• Technical- Cooking Skills/Basic kitchen skills
• Physical Capabilities- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally and assist lifting up to 100lbs.
• Additional- Exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.

Education/Related Experience:

• Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication, basic math Minimum time in related position- 2 years kitchen experience, at least 1 year at The Outback
