Job summary

Churchill Downs Inc.'s Fair Grounds in New Orleans seeks a supervisor to oversee every operating department within the OTB and to supervise hourly staff. The role carries out supervisory responsibilities in line with the business plan, policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Key duties include handling customer relations, directing staff, maintaining equipment, posting programs, supporting promotions, cash handling, training, safety compliance and recruiting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from team members, regulatory agencies or staff.
• Ability to write and present information to management.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations for daily duties.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and handle multiple variables.

Responsibilities

• Handles all aspects of customer relations.
• Directs, schedules and supervises all hourly staff.
• Ensures equipment is in working order and arranges maintenance.
• Posts daily programs and results (video poker and pari-mutuels).
• Ensures compliance with procedures and policies.
• Assists in executing marketing promotions at the facility.
• Counts, balances and prepares shipments of cash.
• Interacts with facility manager to promote harmony.
• Assists with safety and security; food safety and emergency procedures.
• Recruits hourly positions and recommends hiring decisions.
• Trains, coaches and motivates hourly staff and manages promotions or transfers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
