Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an OSP Field Engineer in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on detailed on-site data collection for telecommunications fiber networks, validating existing field designs for aerial, buried, and underground routes, and supporting junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and GIS; ability to read as-built prints.
• Ability to read maps, identify conflicts, and route lines for projects.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document facilities including cables, poles, and handholes.
• Capture measurements of attachment heights, spans, and distances to lines and property.
• Identify ownership of power/communication facilities on poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, and anchor information; share with engineering.
• Deliver field notes and photos to the engineering team; support GIS work.
• Identify obstructions and propose mitigation for fiber placement.
