Job summary

The OSP Field Engineer at Pearce Services conducts on-site validation of fiber networks, capturing measurements, documenting facilities, and supporting engineering with detailed field notes and photos.

The role requires 3+ years in fiber/telecom, knowledge of GIS/ESRI, AutoCAD, and a valid driver’s license, with extensive travel and outdoor work across multiple states.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fiber-optic/telecom/OSP construction.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with fiber design, pole lines, conduits.
• Knowledge of right-of-way and easements.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts.
• Familiar with GIS/ESRI and shapefile functionality.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Document facilities on poles, handholes, and cables.
• Capture measurements: heights, distances, centerlines.
• Identify power/communication facilities and ownership.
• Record bonding, grounding, and anchors.
• Deliver field notes and photos to engineering team.
• Identify obstructions and mitigation strategies.
• Read GIS maps, conduit records, and drawings.
• Use tools: measuring wheels, height sticks, GPS, etc.
