Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Surgical Technologist for evening shifts in Orthopedic Surgery. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will scrub on all procedures in the OR and assist the physician as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS, and NBSTSA Surgical Technologist certification (upon hire). One-two years of OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• NBSTSA Surgical Technologist Certification preferred or required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Assist the physician in procedural areas as a secondary circulator under RN supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge of instrument care, handling, and maintenance.
• Report unexpected events and outcomes promptly to RN staff and leadership.
