Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to manage surgical scheduling, pre-certification, and insurance benefit verification. You will coordinate referrals, communicate with patients and physicians, and support efficient operative workflows.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating pre-admission testing, and maintaining the surgeon calendar. The role requires medical office experience and familiarity with EHR systems and practice management tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or 1 year medical office experience.
• Associates degree preferred.
• One year medical office experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures for assigned surgeons and maintain the calendar.
• Discuss and coordinate surgical dates with patients in coordination with physician schedules.
• Provide patients with required information including cardiac and medical clearance.
• Schedule pre-operative and post-operative appointments and pre-admission testing.
• Maintain and update the physician's surgical calendar and weekly OR schedule.
• Complete all forms related to surgery scheduling and assist with follow-up appointments.
• Notify relevant teams of add-ons, cancellations or special requests.
