Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute seeks a Clinical Coordinator to act as a liaison between physicians, patients, staff and other specialists. You will help ensure physician schedules align with protocols and assist with coordinating patient care and related documentation.

Responsibilities include handling incoming calls, chart preparation, appointment scheduling, and coordination of deposition logistics, while maintaining accurate records and supporting the Revenue Cycle department as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing 40 wpm with good spelling ability.
• Computer literate and knowledgeable in business software/equipment.
• Knowledgeable in basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Responds to incoming calls and routes to appropriate respondent to ensure resolution.
• Secures charts and discusses issues with physicians; completes chart notes as appropriate.
• Registers and assists in scheduling of appointments for new and established patients.
• Arranges for legal depositions and ensures patient records are available prior to deposition.
• Prepares charts prior to clinic hours with complete documentation.
• Sends prescriptions for therapies, return-to-work notes, gym notes, etc.
• Composes non-patient visit letters and distributes physician mail.
• Maintains physician credentials and CME credits.
• Supports receptionist and clerical tasks; handles routine documentation and requests.
• Prepares physician on-call schedules and coordinates schedule changes.
