Job summary

Vertex Inc is seeking an experienced technical support leader to troubleshoot data-driven applications, databases, and APIs. You will escalate complex issues, mentor staff, and collaborate with product and engineering to scale support processes.

Candidates should reside in Oregon or nearby Pacific Time zones, bringing 6+ years in enterprise support, strong SQL/DB skills, and Linux/Unix experience. On-call rotation may apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical support, support engineering, or systems engineering in enterprise environments.
• Strong SQL and relational DB experience; REST and SOAP API/web services.
• Experience with Oracle and SAP environments; Linux/Unix exposure.
• Ability to troubleshoot data-driven applications and complex escalations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final escalation point for complex client issues and drive resolution.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for data-driven apps, databases, APIs, and enterprise tech.
• Act as customer support liaison through pre- and post-implementation phases.
• Collaborate with product/engineering to communicate needs and scale support processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor Tier 2 analysts; manage escalations.
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles and best practices.
• Maintain shared environments; fulfill on-call duties on rotation.
