Job summary

Brenntag in Houston, TX is seeking a Customer Service Representative to deliver a positive customer experience through timely communication and accurate order processing across the full order life cycle. You will verify shipping, billing and pricing, update files, support sales in the field, and resolve issues with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Customer Service or similar discipline.
• Chemical Distribution or Manufacturing is a plus.
• Must have the capacity to problem solve, work independently, and consistently demonstrate strong listening, speaking and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for collaboration.
• Skilled at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to prioritize heavy workload and multitasking.
• Dedication to teamwork, customer satisfaction, and results.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, have on-call hours, or work after hours.
• Keeping calm when on customer calls.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/CRM systems, and team collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Process orders accurately and confirm via phone, email or EDI, and communicate changes promptly to customers.
• Verify shipping, billing, pricing, and purchase order details.
• Enter special instructions, update pricing and delivery notes in customer files.
• Support sales staff with field activities and customer inquiries.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with data entry and order intake teams to ensure timely processing.
• Audit orders for pricing, quantity, terms, ETA, carrier, and compliance.
• Document and resolve customer complaints and process returns per procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory policies.
