Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Customer Service Representative to accurately fulfill customer orders and manage incoming calls under close supervision. You will respond to product inquiries, provide quotes, and handle order entry to ensure timely processing.

You will place orders via multiple channels, negotiate prices within set parameters, and build strong relationships to drive repeat business while maintaining inventory and coordinating with shipping and account teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with 0–3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Demonstrates reliability, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with good listening abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in (counter sales).
• Influences gross profit by negotiating sale/purchase prices within parameters.
• May adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demand while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and improve processes.
• Orders items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
• May place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per PO without approval.
• Sourcing products across branch, distribution center, or supplier inventories.
• Determines cost-effective shipping methods for customer orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders and prepares orders for shipment; may handle returns.
