Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery in Chester, VA is seeking an Oral Surgery Assistant to join a fast-paced team focused on high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting the surgeon, taking x-rays, documenting charts, preparing rooms, and maintaining instrument sterilization.

Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits. The ideal candidate has at least one year of dental assisting or surgical experience, understands sterilization principles, HIPAA

Formación

• One year of dental assisting or surgery experience required.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles.
• Understanding of HIPAA.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Familiar with anatomy and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care with empathy before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist surgeon with evaluations, surgeries, and post-op visits.
• Take digital x-rays and models.
• Document patient charts accurately during evaluations, surgical procedures, and post-op appointments.
• Prepare surgical trays, and evaluation and surgical rooms for procedures.
• Maintain sterilization of instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms.
• Complete clinical and pharmacy logs according to practice standard.

What You'll Do:

What You'll Need:

• One (1) year of dental assisting or surgery technical experience required; oral and maxillofacial surgery experience, preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles, required.
• Understanding of HIPAA, required.
• CPR certification, preferred.
• Familiar with anatomy and medical and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What It Takes:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with sedated patients.
• Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
