Job summary

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking an Oral & Maxillofacial Clinical Assistant to join our fast-paced Richmond-area practice. You will help seat and recover patients, maintain sterile treatment rooms, and stock supplies while upholding HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and precise adherence to procedures as you support clinical staff and ensure smooth daily operations in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• X-Ray certification preferred but not required.
• Understanding of sterilization principles, required.
• Understanding of HIPAA, required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Practice.
• Clean instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms.
• Stock rooms appropriately.
• Seat and recover patients.
• Follow all clinical related policies and procedures according to practice standards.
• Complete clinical logs and follow cleaning schedules.
• Follow OSHA, AAAHC, and practice clinical guidelines.
• Complete day-to-day functions in a proficient manner consistent with practice policies, procedures, and mission statement.
• Other duties as assigned by Office Manager.

What You'll Do:

What You'll Need:

• X-Ray Certification preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles, required.
• Understanding of HIPAA, required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

What It Takes:

• Experience with surgery or oral surgery in a medical or dental practice, preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with sedated patients.
• Prolonged periods of standing, stretching, lifting, and bending.
