Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Registered Nurse - Surgery to deliver high-quality care in the operating room. The OR RN plans and coordinates care with the surgical team, performs pre-operative assessments, scrub and circulate during procedures, monitors vitals, and educates patients and families throughout the perioperative process.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Maryland RN licensure (or Compact state), BLS certification, and at least 1

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Maryland State Board of Nursing licensure or Compact State.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating).
• BSN or MSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments, including patient histories and physical examinations.
• Scrub functions: instrument and supplies handling during procedures.
• Circulating functions: monitor and communicate patient condition.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Plan continuum of care for surgical patients.
