Position PurposeUsing the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.As a "Registered Nurse-Surgery" you will:Using the Quality Caring Model, the Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) demonstrates expertise in performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients in the operating room setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.An innovator in minimally invasive surgery, Holy Cross Hospital was first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci® surgical system.The OR Nurse plans and delivers patient careCollaborates with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patientsPerform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinationsPerform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during proceduresPerform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communication of patient conditionMonitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical processAssist with specimen collection, processing, and documentationEducate patients and familyPlan continuum of care

Pay Range: $41.70 - $55.68Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
