Job summary

AEG Vision in Perrysburg, Ohio is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to deliver efficient, high‑quality experiences.

Responsibilities include preliminary patient evaluations, preparing for exams, scheduling referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and performing end-of-day tasks. Prior experience in eye care and strong teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assists with specialty diagnostic testing and manages the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork as needed.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Responds to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
