Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients, performing preliminary testing and measurements, and documenting medical history for each visit.

No optical experience is required; comprehensive training and tools will be provided. Some weekend and evening shifts are required, offering growth within a premier vision care organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable and patient; able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented; work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience.
