Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience required; training provided.

You will learn pretest equipment, assist during exams, and help deliver a best-in-class vision care experience. Weekend/evening shifts required; strong patient communication is essential. Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening
• Detail oriented and able to work with the Optometrist
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services
• Collaborative team player focused on best patient experience
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required, training provided

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
