Job summary

MyEyeDr. seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements, preparing patients for exams, and learning pretest equipment. Training will be provided for those new to optics.

The role includes weekend and evening shifts, with a wage range of $16.00 to $20.50 per hour. MyEyeDr. offers comprehensive benefits and a chance to grow in a patient-focused vision-care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with basic math.
• Personable and patient; able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented; work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide seamless patient experience.
