Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients, performing preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience required; training will be provided to learn pretest equipment and visual screenings.

You will help maintain patient flow, ensure comfort during procedures, and collaborate with the team to deliver a best-in-class vision care experience. Weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ability to understand basic math.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
