Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, is looking for an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience. You will assist the optometrist, gather medical history, perform pre-exam tasks, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of patient records while supporting a seamless patient journey.

You’ll greet patients, manage exams with accuracy, maintain inventory, input data in the CIAO system, and collaborate with retail teams to balance patient care with store operations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/external).
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Knowledge of office environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Display a professional image, greet patients promptly with a smile.
• Promptly answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Perform a variety of tasks to assist the optometrist in eye examinations, including obtaining medical history and preparing patient for examination.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully; identify special needs; consult with Optician or Retail Management when necessary.
• Handle and file patient records in accordance with HIPAA.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and contact lenses in exam rooms.
• Utilize the CIAO system for inputting customer/patient data and eye care services with appropriate fees.
• Support retail as capacity and patient demand allows.
