Job summary

LensCrafters is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience and ensure the highest quality optometric care for patients. You will support the exam process, coordinate with the doctor and retail teams, and help maintain accurate patient records in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

The role emphasizes patient communication, efficient pre-exam testing, and ongoing coaching on contact lens care while maintaining inventory and a clean exam area.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills.
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Knowledge of office environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and display a professional image.
• Answer the telephone promptly in a friendly manner.
• Assist the optometrist with eye examinations and related tasks.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully; identify special needs.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and organize files.
• Support retention and exam scheduling activities.
• Maintain inventory in exam rooms and contact lens area.
• Provide coaching on care and handling of contact lenses.
