Job summary

AEG Vision seeks an Optometric Technician to support optometrists, perform pre-testing, and coordinate patient care from check-in to post-exam follow-up. The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping, patient communication, and efficient appointment management in a fast-paced practice.

The candidate should have eye exam experience, familiarity with ophthalmic terms, and relevant certifications. Full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical meds, and diagnostic tests.
• Schedule referrals and manage appointment flow to optimize patient experience.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and act as scribe when needed.
