Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry during patient preparations, including preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience?

Training will be provided to learn the tools and tests that deliver a best-in-class vision care experience. The role requires some weekend and evening shifts. Wage ranges apply to Virginia counties outside the listed areas, from $15.25 to $20.90 hourly, based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand basic math.
• Personable and patient, able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product and services.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and complaints, and chart medical history for the exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will experience.
• Learn to operate pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and perform preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team for a seamless patient experience.
