Job summary

AEG Vision in Clarksville, Tennessee, seeks an Optometric Technician to support optometrists, conduct pre-testing, manage appointments, and assist with education and patient care, ensuring a smooth, high-quality experience from start to finish.

You will perform preliminary evaluations, schedule referrals, document findings in EHR, and assist with various diagnostic tests and contact lens duties, contributing to efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Must have eye exams experience and dispense medications.
• HIPAA-compliant record keeping required.
• Industry certification preferred/required (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork as needed.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• Conduct diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with clerical duties.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recalls.
• Manage contact lens insertion/removal classes and orders.
• Perform end-of-day wrap-up and maintain clinic cleanliness.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions.
