Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-exam testing, assist with specialty diagnostics, and help manage appointments to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience.

Responsibilities include patient interviews, scheduling referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and possibly acting as a scribe or performing refractions as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients before exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Schedule referrals and manage paperwork.
• Maintain patient records and communicate findings in EHR.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Support end-of-day practice workflows and frame/display organization.
• May scribe for the Optometrist or perform refractions.
