Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and ensure high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-exam evaluations, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the appointment schedule for an efficient patient experience.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, HIPAA compliance, teamwork, and strong communication with patients and staff. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Interview patient prior to visit to identify medical issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork when needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Answer patient questions regarding medications and treatment; refer to Optometrist as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document findings in Electronic Health Records and assist clerical duties.
• Help maximize schedule utilization with pre- and post-appointment confirmations.
