Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists by performing pre-exam evaluations, assisting with advanced diagnostic testing, and coordinating patient flow to ensure an efficient, high-quality experience.

You will maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and assist with documentation, scheduling, and clerical duties across the practice. On-site, full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).
• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• Performs scheduling of referrals and manage appointment flow.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and obtain CPT codes/billings as needed.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Manage contact lens insertion/removal classes and inventory.
• End-of-day wrap-up and maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice.
