Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, manage the doctor’s schedule, and ensure efficient patient flow from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, coordinating referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and participating in end-of-day tasks to keep the practice organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists or follow-up visits as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment with the Optometrist guidance.
• Possibly perform diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation in EHR systems.
