Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists, perform pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule for efficient, high‑quality patient care.

You will conduct preliminary evaluations, participate in specialty testing, maintain patient records, and handle related clerical duties while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate CPT coding. A strong team player with excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office (Word, Windows) and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, acuity).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor appointment schedule for efficient, high-quality patient experiences.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation and CPT/billing processes.
• Support pre-appointment confirmations and recall communication to maximize schedule utilization.
• Perform contact lens insertion/removal classes and manage inventory/orders.
