AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to work alongside Optometrists, supporting all aspects of patient care and education to ensure efficient, high‑quality experiences from start to finish.

Responsibilities include pre‑testing, scheduling referrals, maintaining patient records, and performing diagnostic tests with specialized equipment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this fast‑paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit to provide details to Optometrist.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with policies (HIPAA).
• Responds to patient telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the Optometrist as necessary.
• May be required to perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Documents medical findings and communication between Optometrist and patient in EHR and assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
• Ensures maximum schedule utilization through pre‑appointment confirmation and recall outreach.
• Performs contact lens insertion and removal classes and manages contact lens inventory and orders.
• End‑of‑day duties including schedule wrap‑up and checklists.
