Job summary

AEG Vision in Owosso, MI is seeking a Part-time Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing procedures and assist with diagnostic testing to ensure efficient, high-standard exams.

Responsibilities include managing the doctor’s schedule, documenting findings in the EHR, and assisting with patient education and contact lens procedures. HIPAA compliance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient, high-quality care.
• Document medical findings in EHR and support clerical duties.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal and inventory.
