Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists in patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing procedures, assist with specialty diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to deliver efficient, high-quality experiences.

The role includes administering preliminary exams, coordinating referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and performing related duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Schedule referral appointments and coordinate with Ophthalmologists or specialists as needed.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and comply with HIPAA policies.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experience.
