Job summary

AEG Vision in Orlando, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and ensure efficient patient care throughout the visit. You will perform pre-testing, assist with specialty diagnostics, manage the doctor’s schedule, and maintain accurate patient records in EHR to deliver a high-quality experience.

Responsibilities include dilation, topical medications, and documenting findings; HIPAA compliance, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting focused on patient

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and HIPAA policies.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with end-of-day tasks and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Support the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
