AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high‑quality patient care. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure an efficient, patient‑centered experience from start to finish.

You may perform OCT and other tests, document findings in EHR, and assist with clerical tasks. Strong detail orientation, teamwork, and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsabilités

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Interview patients prior to visit to determine medical issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete paperwork for specialty visits as needed.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment with the Optometrist guidance.
• Possibly perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with medical documentation duties.
• Maximize schedule utilization via pre-appointment confirmations and recalls.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal classes and manage inventory.
• End-of-day duties including schedule wrap-up and office readiness.
• Support scribe duties or refraction tasks when needed.
