Job summary

AEG Vision in the United States is seeking an Optometric Technician to support our optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-exam evaluations, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience from start to finish.

Responsibilities include documenting medical findings in the EHR, handling patient inquiries, and performing selected testing with OCT and other equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms used in eye care.
• Industry certification such as CPO, CPOA, or CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostics).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records per HIPAA and practice policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Perform diagnostic testing with OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera, etc.
• Act as a scribe or perform refractions when required.
