Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in Morgantown, WV is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage schedules to keep patient flow efficient.

Responsibilities include preliminary patient evaluations, documenting findings in EHR, and coordinating referrals as needed. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and familiarity with medical terms are required.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam (dilation, topicals, visual acuity).
• Conduct patient interviews to inform the Optometrist about medical issues.
• Schedule referrals to Ophthalmologists or follow-up visits when needed.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using OCT, Visual Field, and other devices.
