Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient visits.

This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and solid computer skills. Training is provided, with benefits including a 401(k) match and comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in eye care preferred.
• Certification in the field (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries about medications and treatment.
• May perform diagnostic testing with ophthalmic equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with clerical duties and CPT/code billing related tasks.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recall outreach.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal and inventory management.
