Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with pre-exam testing and patient care. You will conduct preliminary evaluations, assist with specialty diagnostics, and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient experiences.

Responsibilities include documenting findings in the EHR, performing required testing, and coordinating referrals when needed. AEG values collaboration, continuous learning, and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Schedule referrals and manage patient appointments to ensure smooth flow.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and office policies.
• Assist with diagnostic tests and clerical documentation in EHR.
