AEG Vision in Dallas, TX is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our team and support eye care delivery, performing pre-testing, assisting with diagnostic testing, and helping manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, OCT, and visual acuity.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks; manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Schedule referral appointments with ophthalmologists and follow-up visits, and complete paperwork.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment; coordinate recalls and reminders.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment and document findings in the EHR.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization through pre-appointment confirmation and reminders.
• Handle contact lens insertion/removal classes and manage inventory and orders.
• Perform end-of-day duties including schedule wrap-up and office organization.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
