Job summary

AEG Vision in New Haven, CT is seeking a part-time Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-exam evaluations, assist with specialty testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule for efficient visits.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records in EHR, communicating with patients, handling contact lens tasks, and performing end-of-day tasks. Industry certification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May perform diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Record medical findings in EHR and assist with related clerical duties.
