Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician in New York to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and patient prep. No optical experience is required as comprehensive training and tools are provided.

Weekend and evening shifts may be required as part of the schedule. The role emphasizes delivering a best-in-class patient experience and coordination with office staff. You will participate in pretest screenings, assist with measurements, and help maintain smooth patient flow,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for optometrist exam prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they'll experience.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary testing as applicable.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
