Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients and performing preliminary testing. Training will be provided, and some weekend/evening shifts are required. You’ll help with pretests, document patient history, and ensure a smooth flow of visits.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are patient and detail oriented, and eager to learn about eye care. Healthcare/optical background is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn about the optical industry and procedures.
• Basic math ability and comfortable with measurements.
• Personable and patient; able to comfort patients during screening.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and complaints for prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will undergo.
• Learn to operate pretest equipment for visual screenings.
• Provide contact lens training where applicable and conduct preliminary tests.
• Collaborate with doctors and team for a seamless patient experience.
